Laundry are an indie pop band from Eugene, Oregon, USA whose new track Don’t You Dare tells the imagined story of a broken marriage.
By Graeme Smith
The story unfolds through guitar-led instrumentals that alternate between frenetic and melodic. Delicate vocals courtesy of singer and guitarist Kiki spill image-laden lyrics as if they are a confession. It’s the rich storytelling and unusual instrumental construction of Don’t You Dare that really caught my attention.
The four members of Laundry met in the dorms of the University of Oregon in 2017 and quickly took their local scene by storm. Their sound is so fresh and unique I think they’ll definitely find an audience further afield too.
