THE WONDER STUFF have announced a headline show at The Picturedrome venue in Holmfirth. The gig is set to take place on Thursday 2nd September 2021, and will feature the band back in full swing, as they perform tracks new and old.
The Wonder Stuff really has had an amazing journey so far, selling millions of albums worldwide and continuing to record and tour internationally. The band has remained at the top of their game and play with a passion and an attitude that has set them apart from most of their contemporaries. Whilst the line-up of The Wonder Stuff may have changed since their formation in 1986 (original bassist Rob ‘The Bass Thing’ Jones and drummer Martin Gilks are both sadly deceased) but Miles Hunt is still leading the charge, ably supported by original guitarist Malc Treece, Erica Nockalls on violin & backing vocals (since 2005) and old friends Mark Gemini Thwaite (MGT, The Mission, Peter Murphy, Theatre Of Hate and Tricky) on guitar, Pete Howard (The Clash, EAT, Queen Adreena and Hunt’s mid 90’s band, Vent 414) on drums and Tim Sewell (also of EAT fame) on bass duties. The Wonder Stuff formed and after a win on the Football Pools created the Far Out Recording Company.
Even after 35 years of excitement, the band are still raring to go, ready to return to the stage as the venue doors reopen… All this anticipation will be unleashed in their upcoming headline show, set to take place on the 2nd September at The Picturedrome in Holmfirth. With their unbreakable spirit, infectious energy, and over three decades of experience in tow, the night is set to delight audiences, and the group play with the precision and passion that only few musical acts have mastered. New favourites and old classics will all be featured, as the group deliver a night that is truly unforgettable, still being whispered about years down the line.
