Japanese pianist Iori Kimura and bassist Kohei Morita have joined forces to create the wonderfully explorative Raku Jitsu (One’s Dusk).

I love an instrumental piece that tells a story and that’s just what Raku Jitsu does. As it grows through its movements, the melody weaves a sense of adventure. Running for over eight minutes, it’s an adventure that keeps giving too.
The piece was recorded live at the Ichigaya Lutheran Hall back in April this year and the resulting sound quality is quite incredible. The piano and bass combine to fill what must be an impressive space given the cavernous quality of the audio. You can hear it for yourself below.
