I’ve made no secret of my love of Canadian bedroom pop artist Aunty Social’s (real name Daniela Gitto) work but I think Sensory Overload may be her best track yet.
By Graeme Smith
Housed within a sinister video that speaks to how medication and society can cloud our minds, the track consists of a lively electronic arrangement and Daniella’s characteristically lethargic vocals. The lyrics are honest and cut to the bone, as does the video’s ending.
The track is taken from her new EP It Looks Friendly, which also includes previously shared tracks Unsmiling, Aunty Depressants and Hide Away. The EP is out now and I strongly advise you to have a listen.
