New Music: Kowloon – The Sun

Kowloon is one of those artists that I simply can’t get enough of. His timeless style is always the perfect antidote to day to day stress but it’s his song writing that I really admire. His latest, a lo-fi number for a lazy afternoon, is called The Sun.

By Graeme Smith

The Sun is a simple love story. Seductively soulful, it takes its cues from the likes of Al Green and Sly Stone but is unmistakably Kowloon – not least because of his characteristically smooth vocals. A track full of surprises, its retro opening gives way to electronic and percussive interludes before closing with a big mouth organ solo.
