Benjamin Dakota Rogers is a Canadian country music artist whose storytelling new track When I Do Die caught my attention.
By Graeme Smith
When I Do Die has a throwback feel to it, speaking to early Americana with acoustic instrumentals and classic vocals. Yet, what the track’s story speaks of never goes out of date – the inevitably of our death, as well as love, jealousy and nostalgia.
Benjamin hails from rural Ontario and is a two-time nominee in the Canadian Folk Music Awards. It’s easy to see why he’s received such plaudits – When I Do Die is a perfectly put-together song that will have you hanging on every drawling word. You can listen to it below.
