Based in London, The White Russian are an acoustic folk ensemble fronted by singer songwriter Joseph Giffard Tutt. Citing influences such as Bright Eyes, The Beta Band and Neutral Milk Hotel, they create poetic modern folk tales. Their latest is called Cancer Knee.

Cancer Knee is a track oozing with atmosphere from its very first bars. Joseph has the perfect vocal style for folk – unique but charismatic, and the track has a cantering tempo that is immensely satisfying. The cryptic-sounding lyrics were the result of being written during a bout of delirium (Joseph has been suffering from chronic fatigue).
An act that has already caught the attention of BBC Introducing and The Independent, The White Russian have all the ingredients to become cult legends. You can check out Cancer Knee below.
