Video: Clintiss – Toreador

Clintiss is a French-Canadian neoclassical composer who I first featured on the blog over the summer through his twin tracks Russe Blanc and Mars à Montréal. For his latest piece, he’s recorded a live performance taken from his new album Toreador.

By Graeme Smith

The piece is a solo piano one with Clintiss making the most of the instrument. An expressive melody meets gentle chords. It’s music that takes you on a journey with highs and lows and some of the playing is out of this world.

The virtuoso pianist splits his time between France and Canada and uses the unique culture of each country to define his music. You can check out the live performance video below and the album Toredor is available in all the usual places now.
