Joe Traxler is an indie pop artist based in Vienna, Austria who I first discovered last month through his journey through the psyche, Empty Prayer. Now he’s back, and no less deep. His latest is called Lifeline.

Rather than searching inward, Lifeline is very outward-looking, exploring themes of oppression, patriarchy and white privilege that exist in our society. His message is delivered through beautiful lyrical poetry and a moody yet groovy instrumental arrangement with hints of jazz.
The title track of his forthcoming debut LP, due out next year, Lifeline is another great example of Joe’s unique approach to pop. You can check it out below.
