New Music: Arliston – Mountaineer

Arliston are a London-based indie pop band who I first discovered in October thanks to their emotive track Centre. Their latest is another tear-jerker and it’s called Mountaineer.

Opening with a melancholic piano melody and ambient bird calls, Mountaineer is the kind of track that draws you in with its minimalism. Emotional vocal harmonies join in and they deliver image-laden poetry that will have you hanging on every word. Mountaineer is another great release from a band who takes their cues from the likes of The National and Damien Rice.

The accompanying animated lyric video adds an element of humour that cuts through the sadness of the track. You can check it out below.
