Portland, USA-based pop singer songwriter Maijah first hit my radar last month through her atmospheric track Autumn Vibes. Her latest takes up where Autumn Vibes left off, with wistful, melancholic and deep emotions. It’s called Usual Sad.

Anyone who has ever suffered from depression will know immediately what Maijah is singing about in Usual Sad. She doesn’t flinch as she explores the feeling of being more down than what is normal, all while searching around for a reason for it that just isn’t there. It’s powerful stuff, made all the more powerful through its stripped-back instrumental arrangement.
