Kid Apollo, real name Rory Mullan, is an indie rock singer songwriter based in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. His new track was, as he puts it, “written about someone else but ended up being about myself.” It’s called Catching Buses.
By Graeme Smith
Catching Buses is rock in the vein of The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand, with melancholic, almost apathetic, vocals and hooky, pop guitar riffs. The story of the track is being young and trying to escape your problems in all the wrong ways. I’m sure we can all relate, but in his lyrics Rory elevates the relatable to something profound.
Having already made the radar of BBC Introducing, Kid Apollo is certainly an act to look out for in the charts. You can check out Catching Buses below.
