Baudelaire are a Wolverhampton-based post punk band whose musical mission is to explore “the unlit corners of the human condition”, as they put it. Their latest such exploration is called Prayers.

The track opens with and urgent bass riff and percussion before melancholic vocals float in. The energy ramps up with layers of guitar. It’s all thoroughly absorbing and should be a hit with anyone who likes their rock on the bleak side, such as fans of Editors or The Cure.
The band are pretty new to the scene, having only formed last year, but their sound is already feeling accomplished. They’re definitely ones to look out for. You can take a listen to Prayers below.
