Based just up the road in Hebden Bridge, Marc Bird is a folk pop singer songwriter who caught my attention through his new single Moon Puddles.

Moon Puddles has a dreamy, space-age feel about it, with whooshing ethereal ambience, gentle acoustic guitar and haunting vocals. The lyrics are pure poetry, rich with imagery and metaphor. Marc compares his sound to Bowie’s Black Star album and I have to say I agree with him. It’s in the same world of abstract surrealness.
The track is the first single to be taken from Marc’s forthcoming second album, due to be released later this year. You can check out Moon Puddles below.
