Hanwell, real name Joe Jackson, is a Birmingham-based bedroom pop artist whose new track is intended as an anthem for burned out Gen Zers. It’s called Avalanche.

Avalanche feels like a healing balm. With its soft rock arrangement and Joe’s gentle vocals, it’s very easy on the ears. It somewhat disguises the depth of the lyrics. Rich with emotion, particularly despair and anxiety, it rewards the careful listener with its cathartic story.
Though new to us, Hanwell has already hit NME’s radar and is certainly finding his audience. He’s one to keep an eye on. He could make it big. You can check out Avalanche below.
