Hyattsvillain is a Washington D.C., USA-based alternative rock act who Jane first discovered for the blog last month. Since then, she’s featured his music in a couple of her roundups, and even interviewed him. Now it’s my turn to run the rule on his music. His latest track and video is called Kids Don’t Buy Groceries.
By Graeme Smith
In both the track and the video, the sense of humour is immediately apparent. The animated video is quirky while the storytelling lyrics leave pretentions at the door. It’s all tempered by monster riffs and a choral refrain that will lodge itself in your head and refuse to leave.
The track is the fourth release from Hyattsvillain’s debut album Short Songs For A Fast Life, set for release in the Summer. You can check out the video for Kids Don’t Buy Groceries below.
