Discovery: The Pink Nostalgia

The Pink Nostalgia, real name Joseph James, is a Hertfordshire-based alternative pop singer songwriter who has caught my ear with his latest ambient track Radio Silence.

By Graeme Smith

The track opens with waves of keys and synths, slowly building with bass and guitar but staying sparse to give Joseph’s beautifully emotive vocals room to breathe. The overall effect is something that is instantly captivating. While the track develops, percussion and sax join in, giving it a livelier feel but not losing any of the heart-breaking ambience.

Radio Silence was inspired by Sam Fender’s Mantra and The 1975’s I Believe You, and Joseph’s sound has also been compared to The Japanese House. Whatever you compare it to, his sound is beautiful in its own right. You can check out Radio Silence below.
