Boris Pelekh is perhaps best known as his work as the guitarist of early ’00s indie folk sensations Gogol Bordello. Since his time with the band, he’s embarked on a solo career, culminating in his debut EP I See It Now, set for release in June. His latest single is taken from the EP. It’s called Too Much.

Boris brings a touch of the psychedelic to indie folk with Too Much. His vocals are isolated and haunted, delivered starkly against an acoustic guitar melody. The lyrics speak of a failed relationship, and discovering your own self-worth. It’s powerful stuff.
In the track’s accompanying, conceptual video you see Boris stare into the camera, exposed from the waist up while a dancer represents his lost lover. Again, the power of simplicity comes through. You can watch the video below.
