Thea Wang is a Norwegian dream pop artist who I first discovered for the blog earlier this year through her debut single Tell Me About It. Now she’s back with a new one, a piece of melancholic folk-pop. It’s called Word On The Street.
By Graeme Smith
Word On The Street opens with a delicate, saddening acoustic guitar riff. Thea’s vocals come in, as beautiful as I remember them to be, and telling an emotive, poetic story. As the track progresses, flashes of electric guitar come in and when it hits the first chorus, the drama ramps up, as do the soaring vocals.
It’s a timely reminder of just what a special musician Thea is. Her debut album is set for release in the summer. You can give Word On The Street a listen below.
