Big Society are a Manchester-based indie rock band that we’ve been featuring on the blog as far back as 2019. Now they’re back with a new one which deals with inward change, moving from denial to acceptance. It’s called Bull (On Wheels Pull Thread).
By Graeme Smith
The track opens with a fuzzy, repeating guitar note before exploding into a complex, all encompassing electronic soundscape. There is something euphoric about it all – as if the weight of the world has been shrugged off. The vocals are strong, full of a renewed sense of purpose and ready for a new start. It’s a powerful track.
Alongside our support, Big Society have been given shout outs by Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. It’s easy to see why they’re getting so much attention with such a bold and accomplished sound.
