New Music: OSP – Iyah

OSP are a Reading-based hip-hop collective who I first discovered for the blog back in March this year through their woozy track Fill It Up. Now they’re back with a groovy new one. It’s called Iyah.

By Graeme Smith

Iyah opens with a percussive soundscape against which a free-flowing verse is delivered. With touches of reggaeton in the mix, it’s the kind of track you can get down to, and there is a similar spirit of hedonism in the lyrics that we saw in Fill It Up.

OSP have been on the scene in Reading since 2014 and consist of Esa Kwame, J Blackz, Silqe and Subject. With their name standing for “only speak positive”, they are bringing something fresh and light to the hip-hop world. I can’t get enough of them.
