Discovery: Seiichi

Seiichi is a Seattle, USA-based alternative pop singer songwriter who has caught my attention through the second single release from his debut EP Felix Culpa. A story of rediscovering long-lost love, it’s called 143.

By Graeme Smith

Opening with a delicate acoustic guitar melody, percussion and bass gradually join in, as do Seiichi’s soulful vocals. It all builds to a soaring, seductive chorus, with a story that’s brought to life through intimate imagery and clever metaphor. It somehow both simultaneously melts and breaks your heart.

Seiichi recorded the track and EP at Seattle’s Robert Lang Studio mixed by Of Monsters and Men collaborator KT Pipal and mastered by Matthew Wolk. The EP is due out next month and you can check out 143 below.
