New Music: Bridget Kelly Quinn – Please Stay

Bridget Kelly Quinn is an Edinburgh-based singer songwriter who caught my attention at the end of last year through her jazz and pop-infused debut Isla. Now she’s back with a new one, a strong and deeply personal track. It’s called Please Stay.

There’s a real sense of authenticity to Please Stay. In a stripped-back arrangement, Bridget is accompanied by her performing partner David Lennon on guitar. The result is that her characterful vocals take centre stage, and the emotion and meaning behind each word come through powerfully. The lyrics speak of mental health, and finding hope in the darkness, and its message is important.

It’s another beautiful track from an artist who I have a lot of time for. You can check out Please Stay below.
