Plastic Punk is an EDM-based artist who recently released a song called You Know It’s Love, which I really liked, despite not normally being into the genre. The track deserves to be heard, so make sure you check it out at the end of this interview!

You recently released a track titled You Know It’s Love, which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the song?
This is true. You Know It’s Love is a dance-pop track about falling hard for someone. Very piano-heavy, lol.
A new song has been released, called Solar System. What can you tell us about the track.
Solar System is a song I cooked up with someone I met in a music networking chatroom. Her name is Fay, but she goes by BLVCK BARBIE. Essentially, she and I hit it off, and I sent her a rough demo of something I had just started. Shortly after that, Fay sent me a demo of what would become the lyrics to Solar System. We had a great back and forth, sending each other mp3s. Once we had the arrangement, Fay went to her local recording studio in The Bronx, NYC, and cut the vocals. The rest is history. Solar System is about getting wrapped up in someone and ignoring all the signs until the truth combusts in your face.
Solar System features a collaboration with BLVCK BARBIE. How did the collaboration come about and will you be working together in the future?
As I mentioned, she and I met online. We really enjoyed working together on Solar System. We vibe really well. More songs are coming, for sure.
Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?
Yes, 100%. You can expect some more Plastic Punk x BLVCK BARBIE tracks very soon.
Have you started writing for an EP or an album?
I’m honestly not sure yet tbh. I don’t really have time to hold on to tracks. So right now, I’m just dropping singles right after I get the masters back. Maybe at the end of 2022, I’ll tie some of them together.
Has the pandemic hindered your work much?
Surprisingly no. So much stuff is done online these days.
Your music is based on the EDM genre. What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?
A lot of stuff influences me. Lately, I’ve been jamming Spotify’s Serotonin and tear drop playlists. One is happy, and the other is sad. So it can go either way.
You’re based in Kentucky. What is the music scene like in your part of the world? Are you influenced by your surroundings?
Yeah, my hometown is Louisville, Ky. They have always had a thriving music scene. The energy there has definitely influenced me a lot.
Do you have any UK tour dates lined up?
I wish, lol.
Any last words for the fans?
Love ya!
