American singer songwriter Carey Clayton has become a bit of a familiar face on our blog; we’ve been covering his music since last summer and his beautifully emotional album Gradually, Suddenly. Now he’s back with a new single, collaborating with fellow singer songwriter Little Kruta. It’s called Foreign Tongues.

Foreign Tongues hits you with a wonderful sense of atmosphere right from the off. Moody piano and soft vocals set the tone before strings enter, swelling to a rich soundscape. It all feels a lot more experimental than what I’ve come to expect from Carey but I’m here for it. It sounds like nothing I’ve heard before.
