I’m not normally one for mainstream sounding electronic pop, but HIRAD does it so well, that’s it’s impossible not to love his music! Faded contains just three tracks, but the songs here help to display his music well – it also helps that it’s a little distinctive from a lot of the stuff you normally hear on the radio,

The first track is titled Intro, but there’s so much more to it than that. Whilst it does have quite a slow start, the music is really beautiful, seeing the synths build up with some backing effects added over time.
Intro segues really well into the next song, which is On My Own. The synths build up, bubbling underneath the surface, before the female vocals appear, gliding through the song with ease. HIRAD has chosen a really great chord sequence to use here, having a haunting quality at times. It’s a fairly mellow tune, although there’s more going on in the background than first appears, showing HIRAD to be an amazing producer too.
I Would Cry has a similar style to the previous song – it’s great to hear down-tempo electronic music like this being produced, instead of the angsty electronic music you often hear. The female vocals appear once again, drifting through the music in a dreamy fashion, with the main instrumentation coming from the backing synths which have a lovely textural quality. Percussion and synth lines are added over time, following the main chord sequence.
Faded is a fairly short EP, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t fantastic in its own right! It’s best listened to in order, at least at first, as the songs sound like they are designed to flow into each other, showing another one of HIRAD’s talents.
