Eugenia Post Meridiem are an Italian four-piece indie pop band who released their first album in 2019 but have only just hit our radar. Their second album like i need tension is on its way and, in anticipation, they’ve just released a single and video from it. It’s called willpower.

Willpower is a dreamy number, channelling classic psych rock energy and modern pop sensibilities. The star of the show is certainly frontwoman Eugenia’s vocals – unique, rich with character and utterly lovable. Yet, she is ably supported by an unconventional instrumental arrangement that includes walking bass, bright brass and echoing guitar. It’s all so lush and lovely.
Though new to us, Eugenia Post Meridiem have already been covered by Vice, Clash and Rolling Stone. If you’re not already a fan, I suspect you will be soon. Especially when you check out the video for willpower below.
