F. Scott is the musical project of Guelph, Canada-based Gabriel Burke. With diverse influences that include Kanye West, Chance The Rapper and Bon Iver, he combines folk, indie and hip-hop elements to create something truly unique. His latest track is called Summer Shame.

Summer Shame starts in a meditative fashion, with long, unearthly notes, before hitting a pop groove. The vocals have a wonderful character, chilled yet emotional. I found myself clinging onto every word of the first verse, before being blown away by the impact of the instrumental hook.

The track is the first release from Gabriel’s album Scotty Season, planned to be released in five parts over the next few months. Based on the evidence of Summer Shame, the album is going to be something special. You can check out the single below.
