London-based singer songwriter Salt Ashes may be new to us, but she’s already received praise from the likes of DIY, Wonderland and The Guardian. Her new track is a love song, but not as we know it. It’s called Didn’t See It Coming.

Opening with a pulsating bass rhythm, Didn’t See It Coming is track that combines dance elements with moody introspection. The vocals are wonderfully soulful and act as a soothing balm compared to the edgy instrumentals. It’s a track that stirs a lot of emotions but the one that I was left with was that of joy.
