Esmeralda Galda is a Switzerland-based electronic pop artist who has hit my radar thanks to her tremendously atmospheric new track exploring the topic of depression. It’s called Ganzjahresmüdigkeit.

Ganzjahresmüdigkeit wastes no time setting its scene. Low, minimal instrumentals create an eerie moodiness which is enhanced by the nursery rhyme-style delivery of the initial lyrics. The track is sung in German but the emotion needs no translation. You’re left in no doubt that it was written in a dark hole and the authentic feelings are utterly compelling.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been this excited about a new discovery. I’ll be keeping a close eye out for more music from Esmeralda. Taken from her new EP of the same name, you can check out Ganzjahresmüdigkeit below.
