Discovery: Ailsha

Ailsha (pronounced El-sha) is an Irish indie pop artist who has just hit my radar thanks to her moody ballad about love and hurt in the digital age. It’s called R.I.P. (Dead 2 Me).

Ailsha produces pop but not as we know it. Her infectious melodies inhabit a spooky world with Gothic landscapes. R.I.P. is an unconventional track, one part empowering, commercial ballad, one part quirky rule-breaking experimentation. Yet, Ailsha pulls it off thanks to her fun lyrics and stunning vocals.

Having grown up in a musical family, Ailsha has been creating music from a young age – she even taught herself to produce at the age of eleven. The early start has clearly given her the opportunity to tear up the rulebook and create her own inimitable style. I can’t wait to hear more from her.
