Lucifers Beard has appeared on our blog before through his debut single Shake On The Floor. The fact that the track went to no. 1 in the Spotify rock charts is a testament of the immediate impact the Shrewsbury-based rocker’s music has. His new track continues the form. It’s called The Guy With A Black Eye.

Given its title, The Guy With A Black Eye has an unsurprising undercurrent of violence. The guitar riffs are urgent. Its intro and outro give a sense of spiralling out of control. Inspired by a real encounter, Lucifers Beard imagines the life of the song’s anonymous anti-hero, while also expressing a desire to hold the same confidence that he’s projecting.

In true punk style, it’s all over in just over two minutes without a beat or note wasted. You can give it a listen below.
