Takykardia are a Danish electro pop outfit who first featured on our blog back in 2018 through their ambient track Navigate. Two years later, we shared the wonderfully infectious Poor Little Anxious Me. Now, after another two year absence, they’re back on the blog again thanks to their beautiful new track and video L’enfant de ton enfant sauvage.
By Graeme Smith
The track’s title translates in English as “the child of your wild child” and is a tribute to Danish-French frontwoman Luna Matz’s late grandmother. Robbed of a chance to say goodbye due to coronavirus restrictions, Luna became obsessed with the French language and ultimately created this single as a farewell ritual.
Musically, L’enfant de ton enfant sauvage is everything we’ve come to expect from Takykardia – rich electronic experimentation, expressive vocals and heartfelt lyrics. The emotion is universal, regardless of the sung language. You can check out its stunning and fantastical video below.
