Bad Bad World is a stripped-down song that also contains elements of Americana and country, as well as the folky moments. It’s a really pretty sounding song, with a gorgeous string section appearing later on to accentuate the rest of the music. The guitar melodies are slow and steady, working well underneath Mike’s heartfelt vocals, as little electric guitar lines tail off every so often. The backing vocals on the chorus are particularly haunting to listen to.
