Mirnaz is a singer songwriter born in Baghdad, Iraq and is now based in Detroit, USA. She’s just hit my radar thanks to her intimate new song, God Complex.

God Complex speaks of a loss of faith, comparing the religious angle with something a bit more down to earth – friendship. The lyrics seethe with frustration and resignation. There’s a chanting feel to Mirnaz’s delivery that is utterly mesmerising.

Mirnaz has a unique perspective and a sound that’s unlike much I’ve heard before. God Complex has proven to be a wonderfully emotive introduction to her world, one that I look forward to spending more time in. I hope you will too. You can listen to God Complex below.
