London-based indie rock band Modern Guilt first featured on our blog in the autumn of last year when Jane ran the rule over their EP You’re Welcome, then posed them some questions in an interview. Now they’re back and it’s my turn to check out their latest video. It’s called How To Buy Happiness.

How To Buy Happiness opens in a melancholy yet expansive way. It invokes the lonesome Wild West, and this is deliberate. Westerns were on the band’s mind when they composed the track’s story and that’s brought beautifully to life through Mikey Buckley’s production. Yet, at its core, the track remains a shining example of alternative and garage rock.

The accompanying video was shot by film maker Ross Scott and further emphasises the track’s ode to the Western film genre. You can check out the video below.
