Jewelia is a London-based singer-songwriter and producer, creating gorgeous little alt-pop ditties such as her new tune, Second Best.

Whilst Second Best is quite poppy at times, it also has elements of the indie-folk genre. It starts out with a pretty little piano melody, sounding fairly simplistic at first. However, the guitars and drums soon kick in, combining with a backing string section to add more of a texture to this amazing piece. One of the things I loved most about this track were the moments in which the song breaks down around the chorus, allowing Jewelia’s beautiful vocal chords to truly shine through.
