Video: Zoe Guigueno – Benefit of The Doubt

British Columbia, Canada-based singer songwriter Zoe Guigueno first hit my radar at the end of October through her ode to her truck-driving aunt Queen Of My Domain. Now she’s back with a new track and video inspired by a letter from a penpal. It’s called Benefit of The Doubt.

The letter, which became the lyrics to this song, convey an outpouring of buried emotion and past drama. As before, Zoe is able to take someone else’s story and bring it powerfully to life through her song writing and her expressive vocals. Musically, the track straddles the line between folk and jazz. It feels both classic and modern.

The track features alongside Queen Of My Domain on Zoe’s new album We Were Radar Stations. You can give the video for the single a watch below.
