Scribbles Who is an American R&B artist who has just caught my attention thanks to her wonderfully unique new track Free.
By Graeme Smith
Scribbles Who is a Floridian of Haitian heritage and Free features both English and Haitian Creole lyrics. She has released the track today as an act of gratitude, and a celebration of Christmas’s Christian origins. The Creole lyrics are taken from a children’s church song and speak of rebirth and resurrection.
Instrumentally, it’s wonderfully textured, with a vibrant Caribbean sensibility merging with experimental pop and R&B elements, while the vocals are beautifully charismatic.
Free is simply a must-listen. You can check it out below.
