I’ve featured Newcastle-based rockers Crux on our blog before, but not since 2021 when I ran the rule over their EP Death At The Cash Machine. Now I’m glad to say they’re back with a new one. It’s called Save Me.

Crux are really bringing something new to the rock genre with their sound. Save Me blends elements of ’80s electro, industrial, and indie rock to create something that doesn’t quite fit into any of those genres. It’s a journey of a track, with a slow, developing intro that leads into a stripped back verse and then a prog rock chorus. The track was recorded at The Nave Studios down the road in Leeds. It’s a former church and the cavernous space really comes through in the recording.
