If It Lasts is a hip-hop song with a slow, chilled out vibe, making it markedly different from a lot of the other music from this genre at the moment. Joe has a nice flow to his rapping which is matched perfectly by guest star Sterling Duns’ singing on the chorus. A flowing guitar melody runs through the background of the verses, whereas the choruses elevate the music even higher, with some subtle synthlines being added over time. It’s a really nice sounding song, perfect for relaxing to on an evening.
