Ruiz! is a Sheffield-based DIY multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who featured heavily on our blog last year. He rounded off 2022 with a piece of what Reverend Jon McClure described as “Iberian psych.” It’s called The Human Touch.

With The Human Touch, Ruiz! continues to defy the concept of genre. It’s rock, but not as you might know it, with ’60s psychedelia blending with ’80s electronica, and ’00s post-punk. Yet, through all the experimentation, it’s a very personable experience. The Human Touch is a simple story about universal love, emotion and connection (or lack thereof) in our post-COVID lockdown world.
