Sheffield-based DIY multi-instrumentalist Ruiz! is becoming a bit of a familiar face on this blog. This year we’ve featured a couple of his singles, and when I checked out his new track and video One Rule, I knew I had to share it with you.

One Rule sees Ruiz! moving into political, psychedelic rock, with nihilistic lyrics and a heavy, industrial post-punk feel to its instrumentals. It’s all uniquely Ruiz!, a man who follows no trends but always brings his own strong and compelling narrative to his music. The compilation of footage in the video adds an extra punch to the track’s story.
