Though new to us, Spyreas Sid, the man behind Iam Nothe, is a prominent artist in his native Greece. Former frontman of alternative rock bands Cyanna Mercury and Cyanna, Spyreas has been running his solo project since 2018. He released his debut album The Grand Design in September last year, from which single Holding On is taken.

The track, which features Joseph Kiritsis, is a troubadour-esque piece of psychedelic classic rock. It canters along at a steady pace while Spyreas delivers passionate lyrics that speak of a pleading kind of love. The track really hits its stride during a soaring chorus, and finishes strong.

Holding On comes complete with an animated video made by Sophie Graves, the animator behind two of the Smoke Fairies videos released via Jack White’s Third Man Records. You can give it a watch below.
