Jessie Reid is an acoustic folk singer songwriter who uses a percussive fingerstyle to play her guitar. She’s drawn comparisons with Ben Howard, Bon Iver and Lucy Rose and received attention from BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and BBC Wales’s Janice Long, but has only just hit my radar thanks to her latest single. A team up with Easymess, it’s called A Little Closer.

Right from the first few notes, you can tell there’s something that sets Jessie apart from the crowd, and I felt instantly welcomed into her world. Easymess is French-born multi-instrumentalist Adrien Latgé and his and Jessie’s rich harmonies prove to be stunningly hypnotic. A Little Closer is a track steeped in a powerful sense of romance and truly heart-warming.
