The Silent Era are a new, London-based rock band who have caught my attention thanks to their debut single release. Telling the story of trying to be seen in an increasingly self-centric world, it’s called Heavy Cure.

Heavy Cure is a dark, brooding piece of blues rock which takes its cues from the likes of Deftones, Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails. Elements of Goth swirl around with hard rock and something quintessentially English. It’s a well-chosen debut. I definitely want to hear more from them.
Formed near the end of 2021, The Silent Era spent last year building up their live performance notoriety. Now they’re ready to unleash themselves on the wider world and I think 2023 is going to be a good year for them based on the evidence of Heavy Cure. You can give it a listen below.
