Video: Sfven – bones

Sfven is a Derby-based bedroom pop artist who has featured on our blog a couple of times before over the past few years, most recently with his delightful track Little Things. Now he’s back with a new song and video, released via Dance To The Radio and inspired by the sounds of James Black and Justin Vernon. It’s called bones.

By Graeme Smith

Bones opens in an intimate and experimental way. Sfven’s vocals dominate, characteristically unique and instantly compelling. Gentle piano and offbeat electronica complete the soundscape. It’s pop but not as we know it, and provides more evidence that Sfven is a one to watch in the UK music scene.

We’re not the only ones that think so. Championed by Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, it’s surely only a matter of time before he becomes a highly-respected name in the industry.
