Mcclendon is a New York, USA-based musician who brings the acoustic folk and country of his Oklahoma upbringing into his own unique brand of rock. He’s just come to my attention thanks to his latest single The Garden.

The Garden is a wildly atmospheric track, with swirling layers of bass, drums, and guitar supporting Mcclendon’s haunting vocals. With a dark edge, I was unsurprised to learn that his sound had been dubbed by co-producer Tommy Champion as “apocalyptic indie rock.” That about sums it up.

The track will feature on Mcclendon’s upcoming debut album on the same name, which he promises to represent a push of his musical boundaries. I can’t wait to hear it! You can give the single a listen below.
