Micheal B Thomas, real name Thomas Barr, is a Leeds-based indie folk artist who has just hit my radar thanks to his new lo-fi rock single Team Leader.

Drawing influences from Elliot Smith, Wilco and The Velvet Underground, Michael produces a kind of DIY folk rock sound that fans of those artists will certainly enjoy. Lyrically Team Leader speaks of a bad experience with a person in a position of authority, based on the true story of one of Thomas’s friends.

The track will feature on Thomas’s newly announced debut EP The Moment, due out on 15 March. You can check out the surreal, animated video for Team Leader below.
