London-based folk pop singer songwriter Rachel Hill first hit my radar around this time last year thanks to her track Ice Cubes, a song that explored the peculiarity of Internet trends. Now’s she back with a new track that takes on a much sadder subject: the war in Ukraine. It’s called White Rabbit.

The war in Ukraine has inspired a lot of music that I’ve had the pleasure of listening to, but none has captured the human cost so vividly as White Rabbit. Rachel has delicately weaved a heart-breaking story with brutality as a backdrop, drawing its gentle, acoustic focus on a stuffed toy that may never be collected.
